Assembly Row's Storefronts

According to a recent article published by Bisnow, the prosperously diverse, mixed-use development known as Assembly Row is Reshaping Somerville, Mass.

First developed and opened by Federal Realty in 2014, Assembly Row is an amalgamation of restaurants, retail stores, hotel accommodations, medical services and apartments. Federal Realty and governments bodies combined a $100 million of investment to catapult infrastructure in the area. And the results were astounding. Their efforts have converted a town that was once coined as “Slummerville” into the next downtown Boston.

Cheap housing stock in Sommerville once attracted a limited demographic, but thanks to the diversified tenants and companies Assembly Row now attracts, the neighborhood has been revitalized and diversified.

Companies like Partners Healthcare, the largest employer in Massachusetts, moved into a $465 million, 825,000 square-foot office at Assembly Row, right next to the Orange Line station. Other businesses like Montaje, a 20-story, 447-unit apartment building; The Row, a 158-room Marriott Autograph Collection hotel; and large outlet stores such as Polo Ralph Lauren, can also call Assembly Row its home.

As the sub-metering provider for Assembly Row, Champion is proud of this project’s ascension and the indelible mark it is undoubtedly leaving in the community.
