Champion Starts New Company
Champion Utility is proud to announce the formation of its new installation and service company: Champion Sub-Metering Services, LLC. Recognizing the limited amount of service companies in the sub-metering industry, Champion Utility seized the opportunity to create a reliable division that would fulfill the needs of the industry and more importantly, its clients.
"We believe the formation of this new company will grant Champion more flexibility and control over our sub-metering installation and servicing needs," said Nick Vassalotti, chief operating officer of Champion Utility.
Spearheading this division is Champion’s newest addition, service technician and part owner of Champion Sub-Metering Services, Kent Cashwell. Mr. Cashwell will be responsible for scheduling as well as overall operations of the new company. He will also be in the field administering technical support and providing hands-on expertise.
Both Mr. Vassalotti and Charles Bianco, president of Champion Utility, are working very hard toward delivering excellent service to their clients. "We feel bringing service in-house instead of using third party vendors as we have in the past, is a strong step in providing that service," said Mr. Vassalotti.
Operations will begin January 1, 2012.

New Jersey Passes New Sub-metering Law
On August 18, 2011, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities approved a petition submitted by the New Jersey Apartment Association allowing water sub-metering in new residential apartment buildings. The Board's Order permits the use of sub-metering technology to monitor resident's individual water consumption and bill each resident for their usage
Implementation of water sub-metering is one of the first energy policy recommendations in the Lt Governor's bi-partisan Red Tape Report to go into effect. This law will encourage conservation through personal consumption awareness. To view a copy of the BPU order click here.
